Police in Hoima District are investigating circumstances under which a 75-year-old man died in a hotel room in Hoima City on Tuesday.
Joshua Tebagwa, a businessman and resident of Katanga Village in Bugambe Sub-county, Kikuube District, was found dead in a room at Crown Hotel in Kijungu on Tuesday.
According to police findings, the deceased had been a client at the hotel for a while and would book in for 30mins to 1 hr with different ladies on different days.
On the fateful day, he booked at the hotel at around 2am.
However, the manager became suspicious when the deceased stayed in the room beyond the usual time.
The manager opted to check on the client through the window and couldn’t get any response.
“It’s suspected that the deceased collapsed while having pleasure with the woman yet to be identified,” Hoima Central Police said in a statement on Tuesday, November 2.
“His body was found lifeless in the bed lying on its back, facing on the left while half way covered. The phone of the deceased was missing and is suspected to have been taken by the woman he was with,” police added.
A team of detectives led by D/Cpl Mwijuka Deus visited the scene before taking the body to the City Mortuary pending postmortem
Police have said CCTV footage will be reviewed with a view of identifying the woman who was with the deceased in the Hotel.
