KAMPALA, Uganda Algeria announced 210 scholarships for African students in 2025, emphasizing its commitment to educational exchange and empowering the continent’s youth. The announcement came during a bilateral meeting Wednesday between Uganda’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Henry Oryem Okello and Algerian Ambassador to Uganda Mourad Amokrane.

The two officials met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare for the upcoming Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IX), scheduled for Aug. 20-22, 2025, in Yokohama, Japan.
