African Marketing Confederation (AMC) co-founders Nigel Tattersall and Helen McIntee-Carlisle receive the prestigious Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Honorary Fellowship for their leadership and contributions to marketing in Africa.

JOHANNESBURG — The African Marketing Confederation, or AMC, announced Monday that two of its co-founders, Nigel Tattersall and Helen McIntee-Carlisle, have been named Honorary Fellows by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, or CIM.

The award, considered one of the most prestigious in the global marketing profession, was presented to Tattersall and McIntee-Carlisle at the AMC Conference. The accolade recognizes their significant contributions to advancing marketing development across the African continent.

Only a small, elite group of marketing leaders worldwide are awarded the CIM Honorary Fellowship each year, making the achievements of Tattersall and McIntee-Carlisle particularly notable.

Dr. Elaine van Wyk, group chief marketing and sales officer at Uxi Private Education, praised the recipients.

“The CIM’s Honorary Fellowship is one of the highest honors in marketing. Nigel and Helen earned it through their outstanding contributions to advancing marketing across Africa,” she said.

Tattersall and McIntee-Carlisle have been instrumental in fostering collaboration among African marketers, setting high standards, and positioning African marketing on the global stage. Their induction into the ranks of past fellows affirms the rising relevance of African marketing. The recognition is especially meaningful for South African marketers, highlighting that local talent can achieve global acclaim.
