Airtel Uganda Partners with Tecno, Transtel and other Smartphone distributors to increase access and use of the internet

Airtel Uganda, has partnered with select smartphone distributors to offer customers free data bundles on select device models. This is part of Airtel Ugandas affordability campaign that aims to grow peoples access to the opportunities of the internet at an affordable cost.

During this festive season, customers who buy select Smartphones Models from Tecno, Transtel, and Hisense will get free Airtel data valid for 3 months and an opportunity for doubling the data for every weekly and monthly data purchases.
The preloaded data will be accessed by customers who purchase Hisense H60, Samsung A04S, or Techno Spark9. They will get Free 3GB while the 5GB will be accessed by those who purchase iPhone 13 pro Max.
David Birungi, the Public Relations Manager at Airtel Uganda said, In this campaign, we are taking affirmative action to break barriers to the opportunities of the internet. This festive season, Airtel Uganda desires to increase internet access for all customers and we are pleased to partner with Smartphone distributors like Tecno, Transtel, Hisense, Dlight, and Trassion to enable our customers to get access to affordable smartphones and free data bundles on select device models under our Christmas affordability campaign.

We strongly believe that this among other interventions will move the needle of growing digital inclusion in the right direction.”

Speaking at the launch of the partnership, Mr Timmy Shen, the TECNO Brand Manager said, “I want to encourage and implore all our customers countrywide to utilize the amazing offers we have in our Christmas promotion. All they have to do is shop SPARK 9 series and other models from any of the participating shops and win amazing prizes.”

Amar Thakrar, the Transtel Managing Director said, Transtel is delighted to join hands with Airtel this festive season in offering more quality and value to our customers.”

Airtel will offer free 3GB/5GB data bundle every month for 3 months upon purchase of the above-listed smartphone models, 100% data bonus on every weekly and monthly data bundle bought for the first 3 months upon purchase of a new smartphone.
Airtel Uganda customer will be able to activate the free data by dialling *175*9*8# then follow prompts. By following the steps on the menu, a customer will be able to opt for either Free 3GB or Free 5GB offer.
