Chief Magistrate Esther Adikini granted the duo bail based on the presumption of innocence. She cited that they have provided substantial sureties and have fixed places of abode. However, Adikini imposed conditions, including a cash bail of Shs1 million for each of the accused and a non-cash bond of Shs5 million for each of their sureties.

The court also warned the accused against interfering with the victims or their workplace, either verbally or through social media. Adikini advised the complainants to consider reconciliation, as agreed upon by both the accused lawyers and the state.

Mulwana is separately accused of robbing a one Salim Mubiru of his iPhone 15 valued at Shs3.5 million, Shs480,000 cash, and a wallet containing a national ID. He has also been granted a cash bail of Shs1 million, while his sureties have been bonded with a non-cash bond of Shs3 million.
The case has been adjourned to January 13 for mention.
