Police in Kagadi district is investigating circumstances under which a 58-year-old Primary school teacher committed suicide.
Dansan Twesime, a teacher at Nyamiti Primary school and a resident of Nyamiti Cell in Muhorro Town Council Kagadi district allegedly committed suicide by hanging on Wednesday afternoon for unknown reasons.
His lifeless body was discovered by locals hanging on a coffee tree near his home.
Aliru Basanya, the brother to the deceased wondered why Twesime committed suicide because he did not have misunderstandings with anyone in the area.
He says as relatives they have lost a generous person in the family and the village at large.
Stephen Kamar, the Kagadi District Police Commander says police rushed to the scene and picked the body that was later taken to Kagadi General Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
He warned the people of Kagadi against making a quick decision of ending their lives in case they have any misunderstanding. Kamar says the post-mortem report confirmed that the death was by hanging adding that investigations into the death are ongoing.
Most teachers in private schools have gone for over four months without pay and the majority of them are distressed.
