Baby and kids expo 2024 kicks off in Kampala

’Baby and Kids expo, aim at bringing together children, parents, and stakeholders to discuss children’s well-being and development.

Parents have been urged to always teach their children values that will shape their future.

Joweria Nabuuma,the managing director of Kiara events which has organized a baby and kids speaking during day one of Baby and Kids expo 2024 which has commenced today Friday the 10th up to Sunday 12th at UMA show grounds in Lugogo, a Kampala suburb and also asked parents and guardians to ensure children get exposed to skilling programs.

She said this will also help them earn a living but most import will help them corp up with the new lower secondary curriculum which was introduced   recently by the ministry of education and sports.

‘’In this expo, there’s lots of learning from first aid by red cross, saving, insurance, health, sports, cooking, pottery and other skills. I urge parents to bring children so that they are taught all these skills, even how to behave at home and in public” Joweria said.

‘’Baby and Kids expo 2024, aim at bringing together children, parents, and stakeholders to discuss children’s well-being and development. This annual event that celebrates children’s wellness and joy and focuses on education, innovation, and entertainment and provides a platform for families, experts, and exhibitors to explore the latest trends in parenting, child development, and early childhood education,” she said.

With an increasing demand for baby and child-related products across the region, the expo also serves as a crucial platform for exhibitors to interact directly with their audience, offering insights and special deals on a plethora of products for babies, kids, and expectant mothers.”

On his part, Raymond Mugabi, one of the parents commended the organizers of the expo saying that it’s the only way children can learn more out of school and called upon the public to come to the EXPO so that the future leaders are shaped.

Dr. Hilda Kyarisiima a clinical doctor, from the ministry of health, who was the guest of honour urged parents to always check their children’s health, eat well, balance the diet, exercise regularly, and do deworming.

She further emphasized the need for parents to consider taking their boys for early safe male circumcision to avoid certain diseases.

Doctor Hilda Kyarisiima also talked about maternal deaths and said the ministry has come up with measures to curb the causes of these deaths, mothers and children.
She said most of these deaths have been caused by 3 delays, delay at home, delay to reach the health facility, and the third delay is to receive attention at the facility.
