With three changes to their squad, the Victoria Pearls are set to take on the Canada Women’s National Team in the Victoria Series 2025—a milestone women’s T20 International tournament scheduled from October 18 to 27 at the Lugogo Oval in Kampala.
Jimia Mohammad Abdallah, Teddy Oyella, and Sarah Tino have been called up, replacing Irene Mutoni, Malisa Ariokot, and Phiona Kulume Egaru.
The changes reflect a continued investment in youth and performance, with each incoming player bringing fresh energy and valuable experience.

Jimia Abdallah, a wicketkeeper and opening batter, captained the Baby Victoria Pearls at the U19 World Cup Qualifiers in Kigali.
Teddy Oyella, a consistent and crafty spinner, was the MVP of last year’s Women’s National T20 League.
Meanwhile, bowling all-rounder Sarah Tino has risen through the ranks and was previously a reserve in the U19 squad.
All three players have featured in the Kwibuka Tournament, making them well-acquainted with the team environment and international competition.
This marks the first-ever tour of Uganda by Canada’s women’s team, with a five-match T20I series that coincides with ICC Women’s Cricket Week, a global celebration of the women’s game.
The Victoria Pearls recently wrapped up internal practice games and have now moved to Entebbe for a pre-series training camp, including a middle wicket session to sharpen match readiness.
“This series will help us track our progress and test combinations ahead of the ICC Women’s Emerging Trophy in Thailand,” said Head Coach Deus Muhumuza.
The Victoria Series is not just a contest—it’s a celebration of growth, opportunity, and international unity through cricket.
Janet Mbabazi will captain the team.
