Kampala, Uganda – C-Care IHK Hospital in Kampala has held a special patient appreciation event, rewarding mothers who delivered at the facility recently with a wellness day and a luxury weekend getaway raffle.
The event, which was staged at the C-Care IHK Namuwongo facility, gathered mothers who gave birth between May and December this year to focus on maternal health and emotional well-being.
Dr Miriam Mutero Musinga, General Manager of C-Care IHK, delivered an address emphasising the hospital’s commitment to holistic care beyond the delivery room.
“Motherhood is an extraordinary journey filled with moments of beauty and joy, yet it also presents a myriad of challenges that can be incredibly demanding,” Dr Mutero said. “At C-Care, our commitment extends well beyond the delivery room; we are dedicated to nurturing the physical and emotional well-being of mothers throughout their entire parenting experience.”
Dr Mutero added that the event served as an opportunity to “honour and celebrate mothers, providing support and resources to prioritise their own health and happiness.”
The day’s programme included a mental health session focusing on challenges during and after pregnancy, an interactive discussion on painless labour options, and newborn safety training using the HSI Child and Babysitting Safety framework.
The highlight was the “Mom-Cation” Raffle Draw, where Sokie Jackie Katonda Nalongo won the grand prize: an all-expenses-paid luxury weekend trip to a resort in Jinja.
Nalongo expressed her gratitude and praised the hospital’s standards. “From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and a sense of professionalism that instantly put me at ease,” she said. Ms Nalongo also noted that the doctors were “incredibly knowledgeable, and I felt confident in their expertise.”
The initiative is part of C-Care IHK’s ongoing efforts to champion patient-centred care and invest in programmes that support women through every stage of their motherhood journey.
