One of the most notable features of the CHIL Femtech Center’s upgraded telemedicine solution is the ability for students to access healthcare services far beyond the school walls.

CHIL Femtech Center, a pioneering subsidiary of the esteemed CHIL AI Lab Group, has announced its latest innovation aimed at revolutionizing healthcare access for African students. With the upgraded school telemedicine solution, students now have unparalleled access to essential healthcare services, even during holidays, with the added convenience of payment at the beginning of each term. This innovative platform empowers schools to provide comprehensive healthcare services to their community members, including dependents, in a seamless and efficient manner.

One of the most notable features of the CHIL Femtech Center’s upgraded telemedicine solution is the ability for students to access healthcare services far beyond the school walls. In the event that a student falls ill while at home during holidays, they can easily access medical assistance from CHIL’s network of local partner facilities, referred to as “spokes.”

“We have enabled information sharing between our normal Hub and Spoke and school telemedicine,” states Shamim Nabuuma Kaliisa, the CEO and Co-founder of CHIL Femtech Center.

To facilitate this process, parents simply need to contact the school, granting permission for their child to avail of the telemedicine healthcare services, and then services are offered to a child, and payment is made at the beginning of the term.

Additionally, the new feature allows both teaching/non-teaching staff members and their dependents now have the ability to access essential healthcare services from our partner health facilities including partner school sick bays. This platform ensures that medical assistance is just a click away, allowing staff and their families to receive prompt care whenever needed without a requirement to pay out of pocket.

Through strategic partnerships and a commitment to excellence, the platform has already made a significant impact on the lives of students across the region. In 2023, a staggering 20,110 pupils connected to a network of 175 dedicated online doctors for E-consultation services. A remarkable 65% of these students gained access to modern medications through CHIL’s partner pharmacies, ensuring that essential treatments are readily available when needed. All this was done at the comfort of the partner school sick bays.
