Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka officiating the grand opening of Bethel Prayer Centre in Bweyale, Kiryandongo district.

Bishop Kibuuka made the remarks while opening the newly constructed Evangelical Orthodox Church, Bethel Prayer Centre in Bweyale, Kiryandongo district.

Bishop Kibuuka who lauded the clergy, leaders and Christians of Bethel Prayer Centre for building a multimillion house of God for the sacrifice, commitment, organization, hard work, obedience, love and faith before encouraging them to always stand firm, strong and courageous amidst religious persecution since a true church that has its master as Jesus Christ must face religious intolerance.

“Persecution as followers of Jesus Christ is part of our package, I have been persecuted so many times including remanding me at Luzira prison, opening up 27 charges against me at once, surviving being shot dead however in all these I have always come out as a winner and thus I want you to be courageous since people throw stones at trees with fruits hence remain focused and growing.” Said Bishop Kibuuka

Bishop Kibuuka who also expressed joy for the flourishing piggery project in Bweyale promised to give them more piglets since he wants each family to have at least 100 pigs to which he will as well provide a market for.

He further urged the Christians to make use of the parish development model program to boost their business and to defeat poverty.

“You must make use of the money that comes through Parish Development Model to develop yourselves so that by the time those who are against us get to know we are moving when are actually running. The money has low interest so you can get it and add in our piggery project so that it further flourishes.” Said Kibuuka.

Bishop Kibuuka also revealed that they are in the second phase of institutionalizing the church since they exist legally and they have over 100 churches now across Uganda in a period of five years thus nobody can doubt their authenticity

Deacon Richard Kabagambe the leader of Bethel Prayer Centre and Kisembo Alex, the chairperson of the building committee narrated the journey of building the multimillion church saying that they have been able to make it by God’s grace, perseverance, sacrifice, togetherness, hard work and commitment amidst religious persecution.

Kisembo revealed that their future plan is to acquire more land, build schools, health center, clergy houses and do more economic empowerment projects in addition to the piggery project.
