CAF B licensed coach Abu Mubarak Wamboya is expected to leave Young Elephant Academy FC after his short-term contract expired, with both parties failing to agree on terms for a new long-term deal.
Wamboya joined the club on a two-month contract, which included an option for an extension at the end of the season. During his spell, he played a key role in steering the team away from the relegation zone after taking charge with just eight matches remaining.
Under his leadership, Young Elephant Academy won four matches, drew two and lost two, collecting 14 points to finish the campaign on 40 points and secure their status.
With his time at the club seemingly coming to an end, Wamboya is now weighing up his next move. Reports indicate that two FUFA Big League clubs and one Uganda Premier League side have expressed interest in acquiring his services.
Among the clubs linked with the tactician is Phaidha Black Angels, while another Big League outfit is believed to be monitoring the situation but has not been identified publicly.
A move back to his native Mbale is also understood to be a possibility, with Wamboya reportedly interested in joining the technical team at newly promoted Kataka FC as the club prepares for its maiden season in the Uganda Premier League.
