KAMPALA-On Friday afternoon, various stakeholders who turned up for the opening of the New law year at Judiciary Headquarters in Kampala witnessed drama as the Uganda Law Society President, Isaac Ssemakadde was denied an opportunity to address the congregation as it has been in the past.

Ssemakadde realized that he was not going to be among the speakers of the day after the Master of Ceremony called upon Hon. Nobert Mao , the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs to Speak and later the Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo.

He confronted Dollo, reminding him that he has been embarrassed by the organizers who have denied him a chance to speak.

“You can’t come to someone’s compound whom you have been abusing and demand to speak expecting business to be as usual. Only a fool can allow you. I am the one who said that the President of Uganda Law Society Isaac Ssemakadde should not speak , no body else.” Charged Dollo

The Chief Justice also asked Ssemakadde to use this opportunity to apologize to Judicial officers (justice Ssekaana) whom he attacked through various platforms.

“The institution which would have protected the Judiciary, it’s the one leading in assaulting judicial officers, world wide it’s the law societies protecting Judicial officers and courts.”

A few minutes, Ssemakadde walked away from the function and later was followed by other lawyers in protest.
