Makindye Chief Magistrate Sarah Anne Basemera, has adjourned the mentioning of the case in which former Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago is charged with Misprision of Treason.

According to the letter addressed to Court from the Prisons Authority, Lukwago has not been produced in Court today as it was expected because he is weak and on specialized treatment at Mulago Hospital.
“We were at Mulago this morning and confirmed that he is still weak and that is why the hospital found it necessary not to disturb the weak body.” Remarked Counsel Medard Ssegona Lubega, one of Lukwago’s lawyers
Last week, after being denied bail, Court ordered Prisons Authorities to produce the Ex Lord Mayor to Mulago National Referral Hospital for treatment as a result of his health condition which was detoriating on a daily basis.
Prosecution contends that, between 2021 & 2024 in Nairobi, Lukwago together with others allegedly became aware of treason-related plans but didn’t report to the relevant authorities.
