Fadhilah Quran competitions launched to provide rich Islamic experience to Ugandans

KAMPALA — A mega competition— Fadhilah International Quran Competitions—calling for the beautiful and influential voices to recite the Quran has been officially launched in Uganda.

The Competitions scheduled for June have been today April 20 launched at an event held at Fadhilah Islamic School, Katalemwa Kawanda in Matugga.

The launch was presided over by the Director Hajji Hasan Mugoya and Dr Rashid Yahaya Ssemuddu the former Ugandan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia who toured school and planted trees.

Other directors present were Mayambala Noah and Shafi Manafa.

Mr. Mugoya who is the Founder Fadhilah International Quran Competitions said the competition aims to provide a rich Islamic experience to the country and the world by highlighting the diversity of the cultures of the Islamic world, which is reflected in the different methods of reciting the Quran.

Mr. Mugoya also said the competitions hope to encourage a better understanding of the Quran and its recitations among Muslim youth, as well as promoting the nature of Islam which “rejects extremism and intolerance in all its forms.”

Applications for have been opened Tuesday April 20 and will close in June

While physical applications can be delivered at Ham Property Management opposite Old Kampala primary school and Fadhilah Islamic School Katalemwa.

The competition is part of a packed schedule in 2021.

“The competition will be for the most beautiful reciting of the Holy Qur’an, and competitors from all over the world are invited” he said.

Dr. Ssemuddu commended the idea and  called for more innovations aimed at uplifting and promoting Islamic religion.

The winners of the competition will be warded fully sponsored Umrah and Hijjah among other gifts.
