The speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Annet Anita Among has confirmed receipt of the gazette results of Kawempe North by election results and revealed the detailed program for swearing in of National Unity Platform’s Erias Luyimbaazi Nalukoola.
“ I have received official communication from the @UgandaEC along with a copy of the gazetted results. I will proceed to swear in the Member of Parliament-elect for Kawempe North in my chambers tomorrow at 12:00 noon.” Posted Among on her official X account.
The Speaker congratulated Erias Nalukoola Luyimbaazi upon his victory.
This announcement has come a few hours after NRM’s Faridah Nambi Kigongo who ended up in the second position, has withdrawn the matter in which she was seeking to have vote recount.
On Monday 24th March, Nalukoola Luyimbaazi from National Unity Platform (NUP), the winner of the by election was gazetted and now awaits to be sworn in by the Speaker of Parliament.
In the recently concluded election, Nalukoola secured 17,764 votes, followed by Faridah Nambi Kigongo with 8,593 votes.
