Uganda Cranes forward Allan Okello and Olympic champion Peruth Chemutai were among the standout winners at the ForteBet Real Stars Monthly Awards for May 2026, which were presented on Tuesday at Nanjing Hotel in Kololo, Kampala.
Okello claimed the football accolade following a string of impressive performances for Tanzanian giants Young Africans. The attacker continued his fine form in the Tanzania Premier League, contributing goals and assists as Yanga maintained their push at the top of the table.
His performances, including braces against Namungo and Singida, saw him edge Sports Club Villa striker Charles Lwanga and Uganda U-17 captain Owen Mukisa to the award.
The former KCCA FC star was represented at the ceremony by his representative Sultan Atubo.
In athletics, Peruth Chemutai was recognized after another memorable month on the international stage. The Tokyo Olympic steeplechase champion triumphed at the Xiamen Diamond League meeting, producing a winning time of 8:51.06 in the women’s 3000m steeplechase.

The netball category went to Prisons Netball Club player Christine Namulumba. She was rewarded for her influential role during the 2026 East Africa Netball Championship in Nairobi, where Prisons emerged champions. Namulumba finished ahead of Police’s Joan Nantumbwe and KCCA’s Margret Bagala.
Young chess talent Alvin Muhirwa completed the list of winners after an outstanding display at the African Junior Chess Championship held in Entebbe. Muhirwa won the Under-16 category and secured the prestigious FIDE Master title, overcoming competition from Jacinta Mbabazi and Ronald Wabwire.

“I am happy for this award. I thank everyone who supported me. I am targeting the Grand Master title,” Muhirwa said after receiving the accolade.
Muhirwa attended the ceremony alongside Uganda Chess Federation president Andrew Bakiza and coach Patrick Mukasa.
The monthly awards are organized by Real Stars Sports Agency with backing from Jude Colour Solutions and ForteBet Uganda, recognizing outstanding sporting achievements across different disciplines.
