Kampala– The Parliament of Uganda through the Speaker’s chambers have released a detailed Burrial program for the late Hon. Hellen Nakimuli, Kalangala Woman Member of Parliament who passed away on Sunday evening.

According to the program released on Monday afternoon, following the formal receipt of the post-mortem report, the cortege departs for Kalangala District via Nakiwogo, Entebbe. The ferry departs at 2:00 p.m.
That on Tuesday, a Special Session of the Kalangala District Council and public viewing. The body will then be moved back to Kampala via the Masaka route for an overnight stay at the funeral home.
“Wednesday, 22 April 2026,
The body will be moved to Parliament for public viewing and thereafter, a Special Session of Parliament convened to pay tribute to the late Hon. Nakimuli. The body will then be moved to the National Unity Platform (NUP) Headquarters in Makerere Kavule prior to the official vigil at the family residence in Namungoona, Kampala.”
Then on Thursday, Thursday, 23 April 2026, a funeral service at the Namungoona Orthodox Church and burial at the ancestral home in Luweero District.
“The Parliament of Uganda stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and the people of Kalangala District. We honour the legacy of a dedicated legislator and tireless advocate for her people.”
The Postmortem report regarding the death of Hon. Nakimuli is yet to be released.
The deceased, by the time of her death, she was among those lucky legislators who were elected to serve for the second term in Parliament of Uganda and she was awaiting to take her oath next month.
