Gen Moses Ali reportedly sick, flown to Turkey

ANKARA — Second Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Moses Ali is currently in Turkey where he was flown last week, treating undisclosed ailment, UgStandard has reliably established.

We have also established that Gen. Ali who is the Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament has been ill for a long time and that he was taken to Turkey for specialised medication.

A top official said Gen. Ali who is above 82 years left the country early last week to Turkey for comprehensive examination.

His aides couldn’t neither confirm nor deny when reached for a comment.

They said they were not authorized to speak about the ‘General’s health”.

“You can speak to him direct. He is a General,” said an aide.

But a close family friend who did not disclose the ailment for which his colleague is hospitalized, urged Ugandans to rise for a prayer for the speedy recovery of Gen. Ali whom he said is “struggling” as he remains bedridden in Turkey.

Gen Ali is one of the closest ministers to President Museveni and in fact said to be a member of his inner caucus.

Gen. previously served in the Cabinet of Uganda as Third Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business.

He has also been the elected Member of Parliament for East Moyo County in Adjumani District since 2011.

It’s estimated that in Uganda, the funds spent to treat top government officials abroad every year could build 10 hospitals.
