Kampala- Journalists from various media houses, former media practitioners, and key stakeholders in the Public Relations field have launched a fundraising campaign to support veteran broadcaster Omutaka Divosh Kizito, who is recovering from a stroke.

The campaign, dubbed “Save Omutaka Divosh,” is scheduled to take place on 28th March 2026 at Be Born in Christ Church in Gayaza–Kayebe, starting at 1:00pm. Organisers say the initiative aims to mobilise financial support from journalists, friends, well-wishers, and other stakeholders through voluntary contributions.
Divosh rose to prominence during his time at the now-defunct Record Television, where he served as a news anchor and became a familiar face to many viewers. He later joined the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), further cementing his reputation as a dedicated media professional.
However, after suffering a stroke, Divosh has been bedridden for a prolonged period and unable to continue working. Colleagues note that like many others, he carries family responsibilities that have become increasingly difficult to meet due to his condition.
The organisers are calling upon members of the media fraternity and the general public to stand in solidarity with one of their own by contributing towards his medical care and welfare.
