KAFKAS Expansion: Minister Nakadama Lures Turkish Businessmen to invest in Uganda

Nsambya, KAMPALA- Hon. Lukia Nakadama Isanga, the third Deputy Prime Minister, has commended the management of KAFKAs Group towards promoting quality products in the country as well as addressing unemployment challenge.

Hon. Lukia Nakadama being welcomed by Mr. Murat Kafka at Kafkas show room on Saturday.

While officiating the grand opening of KAFKAs Store at Arena Mall , On Saturday, Nakadama expressed gratitude to the investors for having brought high quality brands like Beko and Dr. Mattress brands closer Ugandans at an affordable price.

“We are happy to have here brands which are recognized in over 100 countries including Europe, we are anxious that similar products will be introduced here as it is in other countries. We all know that Dr Mattress employees more than 700 people in Kenya and more than 40 people in Uganda. We shall help u to open up more show rooms , so that the number of Ugandans you employe to 1000 people.” Remarked Nakadama

She called upon Turkish investors as well as others from other countries, to tap into the available investment opportunities in Uganda including the conducive environment (favors two seasons annually) by opening up industries and other businesses

“We have tax holidays , and some times incentives like land depending on the size and type of investment you want to open up. We also have a one stop center where you can do everything you need and go out ready to start up the business.” She said

H.E Mehmet Faith AK, the Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, thanked Kafka for bringing Beko and Dr Mattresses the world’s most trusted brands closer to Ugandans as he urged them to buy these products in large quantities.

“By choosing Dr Mattress you’re investing in your health. Every store opened here, it means many more jobs to Ugandans, more skills transfered, more tax revenue to government. So let’s continue supporting brands like Beko in all our communities.”

He also assured all Turkish Business men support in case they invest in Uganda through participating in local manufacturing of goods and services.

Murat Kafka,  the Managing Director, Kafkas in Uganda.. revealed that they started operations in Uganda in March 2024, with a branch along Jinja Road , but they have expanded now with a number of outlets employing over 40 Ugandans.

“Beko is one of the best brands in Europe because of durability and long lasting in Europe. It is very hard to find similar quality products at the same price, our business is not about profits, it about is providing quality.”

He further promised, that they are looking forward to support their partners in local manufacturing.

Adnan Merdin, the founder of Dr. Mattresses brand , also one of the guests at this event, pointed that his target is to open up a state of the Art Manufacturing plant in Uganda as he did in Kenya and he currently employs 700 Nationals.

“As we expand to Uganda through Kafkas , Ugandans (East Africans) you’re not only customers but you’re also stakeholders.”

He asked the Ugandan government, to support him through the journey of setting up a modern mattress manufacturing plant and the furniture workshop to provide employment to Nationals, as well as expand the country’s tax base.

The event attracted government officials, Dignitaries, Businessmen and members of the general public.

The show room which located at Arena Mall , next to Nsambya Traffic lights junction, consists of modern furniture, Dr Mattresses brand of beddings ,and Beko Electronics.
