Kampala- On Monday afternoon, the State House Anti Corruption Unit working with Criminal Investigations Division of Uganda Police and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) arranged before Anti corruption court, two Kamuli district officials.

The officials were Mukiibi Nasser, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Kifuuse Alex, the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) charges of Abuse of office and Causing financial loss. These pleaded not guilty to all charges which prompted court to remand them until the 20th January, 2026.
Prosecutions contends that, between May and June 2025, the accused while employed by Kamuli District Local Government as Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Finance Officer, together with another still at large, in abuse of the authority of their respective offices, did an arbitrary act prejudicial to the interests of their employer by embezzling over UGX 600M through irregularly processing and approving payments to different suppliers including; Raven Knights Ltd, Total Uganda Limited and Mufumba Daniel, the district engineer for supplies such as fuel, construction materials, diversion and traffic control signs, allowances among items for rehabilitation works on the Nawanyago-Kisozi Road.
That the said activities which were meant to be carried out in the F/Y 2024/2025 were not done yet the entire money was spent.
