KAMPALA, Uganda — KPMG has named Tola Adeyemi as chief executive of KPMG One Africa, part of a leadership expansion as the firm consolidates its operations across the continent.
The firm also appointed Olayinka David-West and George Njenga as independent members of its Africa Governance Council. The appointments are effective March 1.
Adeyemi, who previously led KPMG West Africa, has been with the firm for 23 years. He will lead the Africa Executive Committee and help oversee a regional cluster that includes 13 countries across Southern, East and West Africa.
Africa is one of the most dynamic and promising regions in the global economy, Adeyemi said. It is a privilege to step into this role at such a pivotal moment.
The restructuring follows the 2025 establishment of the One Africa Cluster. The group includes member firms in Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Ben Marx, chairman of the governance council, said the new appointments provide board-level oversight and deep strategic expertise.
Tola Adeyemi is exceptionally well positioned to lead KPMG One Africa, Marx said. In addition to his global perspective, he brings significant influence and credibility as a respected business leader.
David-West is the dean of the Lagos Business School, and Njenga is the founding dean of the Strathmore Business School.
The firm also confirmed regional leadership changes. Benson Ndung’u remains CEO for East Africa, and Jolene Pierce will become CEO for Southern Africa on March 1.
KPMG One Africa member firms are part of a global organization affiliated with KPMG International Ltd.
