KAMPALA- The State House Anti Corruption Unit (SHACU) together with the Criminal Investigations Division of Uganda Police have arraigned before the Anti Corruption Court Ssekikubo Mubarak, Chairperson LC III, Nakisunga Sub County in Mukono district.
On appearing before Mukono Chief Magistrates Court, Ssekikubo was charged with Obtaining Money by False Pretence and Conspiracy to Defraud to which he has pleaded not guilty.
He has been remanded until 04/11/2025.
Prosecution alleges that the accused, between January and June 2025, in Mukono Town, allegedly conspired with Mugerwa Ronald Saaku, the Probation & Welfare Officer Lugazi Municipality who is on the same charges and Dr Wataba Saadi who is still at large to defraud a job applicant, Dr Mukisa George William, of UGX 38,000,000
by falsely claiming they could secure him a government job as a Medical Officer in Mukono District.
The accused claimed that the said money was intended to facilitate members of the Mukono District Service Commission in helping him secure the Medical Officer position for which he had applied which was not the case.
It is understood that there are other cases where the same officials, in connection with some of the members of the Commission, have extorted money from job applicants.
