KAMPALA — Provisional results for Makerere University guild presidential race indicate that National Unity Platform’s Shamim Nambassa is leading followed by Forum for Democratic Change’s Obeid Kamulegeya.
National Unity Platform’s National Youth Secretary Francis Zaake has conveyed Congratulations to Shamim Nambassa upon becoming Makerere’s 87th Guild President.
If declared winner, she will become the 7th female to ever hold the position in the history of this premier institution.
“She has won with a landslide margin, courtesy of her hardwork, resilience and the goodwill of the students fraternity,” Zaake wrote.
He added: “The People Power revolution is inevitable. Victory is always bound to occur. Congratulations to the entire Makerere fraternity!”.
However, the university’s Electoral Commission is yet to make the official final announcement.
