Kampala– Today, The state House Anti Corruption Unit together with Criminal Investigations Division of Uganda Police and the Office the Director of Public Prosecutions have arraigned Arinda Nicholas before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of forgery, uttering a false document, and obtaining money by false pretence.

He has been remanded until 9th March 2026.
Prosecution alleges that Arinda Nicholas, together with another suspect still at large, fraudulently made a false document, namely, an appointment letter dated 4th December 2024 (Ref: PO/23) allegedly appointing Mr. Nagwomu Alfred as Managing Director of the Uganda Railways Corporation (URC). The forged letter was purportedly signed by H.E. the President of Uganda, which was not true.
The accused further extorted over UGX 20 million from Mr. Nagwomu, alleging that the money would be used to secure the appointment.
