In a political drama spanning decades, the historical ties between President Yoweri Museveni, Winnie Byanyima and Dr. Kizza Besigye have reached a new breaking point as Byanyima warns that her husband’s life is now in danger. The long-standing rivalry, which saw Besigye transition from Museveni’s personal physician to his fiercest critic, took a dark turn this week with Byanyima’s allegations of a midnight hospital dash and a military-led succession plot.

The Enkuka festival, an annual gathering organized by CBS Radio, is one of the country’s largest year-end cultural celebrations, regularly attracting an audience exceeding 50,000 people.

Mary Kobusingye, communications and corporate affairs manager for Movit Products Limited, underscored the significance of the sponsorship beyond commerce.

“Culture is a powerful connector, and Enkuka provides a meaningful platform for us to unite with the communities we serve,” Kobusingye said. “This contribution reflects our belief in preserving heritage, elevating community celebration, and strengthening consumer engagement.”

The UGX 342.95 million package incorporates both cash and in-kind resources, targeting an improved experience for festival attendees and organizers. The support covers direct funding for cultural programming, essential co-branded materials for event staff and entertainers, media visibility, and community mobilization efforts.

Additionally, the company is providing high-value consumer prizes—including a motorbike, refrigerators, televisions, and bicycles—for competitions and treasure hunts held during the event.

A representative from CBS Radio confirmed the importance of the renewed backing, stating that Movit’s consistent support reinforces the relationship between the festival and the wider community.

Movit Products Limited, which operates across Africa and has been active since 1997, plans to use the festival platform to showcase its range of personal care brands, including Movit, Radiant, and Skin Guard.
