The launch aligns with MTN’s Ambition 2025 strategy, which prioritizes leading digital solutions for Uganda’s progress, as well as the nation’s Vision 2040 and National Development Plan.

At a press conference held at MTN Headquarters, Richard Yego, MTN MoMo CEO, highlighted the platform’s 16-year legacy as a dependable financial partner. “Today, we build on that legacy with a renewed vision to empower every Ugandan to do more, achieve more, and ultimately, become more,” Yego said. “With MTN MoMo, your phone becomes your bank, your marketplace, your investment adviser, your insurance provider, and your passport to the global digital economy. This campaign is, therefore, our promise to be a partner in progress.”

Jemima Kariuki, Chief Products Officer at MTN MoMo Uganda Ltd., echoed Yego’s sentiments, emphasizing the integration of diverse services. “This evolution is about giving Ugandans the power to do and become more by seamlessly integrating a rich portfolio of innovative services at their fingertips,” Kariuki stated. She noted that the expansion enables effortless everyday payments through services like Pay with MoMo and school fees settlement, alongside access to essential financial tools such as savings and loans.

The expanded offerings include Yinvesta, designed to simplify investing; Market by MoMo, an e-commerce platform connecting local sellers to wider audiences; and Cover by MoMo, providing accessible insurance products. Additionally, the Virtual Card by MoMo facilitates secure global transactions.

Yego affirmed that this strategic direction supports Uganda’s national development goals. “By placing the power of a versatile financial ecosystem into the hands of every Ugandan, we are fostering financial inclusion, nurturing entrepreneurship, and building the critical infrastructure for a prosperous, modern, and digitally-empowered Uganda,” he said.

MTN MoMo reiterated its ongoing investment in a robust and secure platform to safeguard all transactions, aiming to unlock “The Power to Be More” for every Ugandan by delivering a digital economy from the grassroots up.
