MECCA– Ugandan Muslim pilgrims currently participating in the Hajj rituals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have praised the Saudi government for its excellent management, particularly in areas such as crowd control, hygiene, and traffic coordination.
The pilgrims expressed their satisfaction during a morning orientation session held at their residence in Manazil Al Fath, Gaza, in Makkah. The session focused on the final stages of the Hajj rituals, which will culminate in a full day of personal devotion at the plains of Mount Arafat on June 5, 2025.
“It is amazing how the Holy Sanctuary in Makkah is maintained. It glows day and night as millions of pilgrims from around the world continue to arrive. Despite the huge crowds, you hardly feel any discomfort—only a deep sense of spiritual connection, even as we endure the scorching heat,” remarked one elderly female pilgrim.
Sheikh Ali Juma Shiwuyu, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Secretary for Hajj and Umrah, continues to guide the pilgrims through the rituals. Meanwhile, Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Hamid Wandega, the Eastern Regional Assistant to the Mufti, led powerful supplications, beseeching Almighty Allah to grant the pilgrims His divine blessings and strength to complete the rituals. He also prayed for peace and stability in Uganda, for President Yoweri Museveni and his government, and for the entire Muslim community.
Among the pilgrims are several District Kadhis, County Sheikhs, and other leaders.
