NANSANA-Eng. Shaban Kaweesa, the Foot Soldier who lost the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag to Journalist, Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa, has expressed disatisfaction with the manner in which the vetting exercise was conducted.
“I don’t know the criteria which was followed by the NUP Elections Management Committee (EMC) in deciding on who will hold the Party Flag. I have been on ground with almost known to all individuals in the Constituency.”

He pointed out that denying him a card was a very big blow because it was very clear that he is the strongest person on the ground that NUP has in the whole Nansana Municipality.
“If they invited me to the vetting process and their findings were that am not fit to hold the Party Flag in Nansana Municipality, then I can’t waste my time making appeals as some of my colleagues.”
He added that after thorough consultations with his electorates, he will appear on the ballot in 2026, as an independent.
