Police explain cause of fatal explosion in Mbarara

Police have said the explosion which killed two people and injured three others in Kisenyi, Mbarara City, on Tuesday, 30 November 2021 originated from a gas cylinder.

He said as the two scrap metal dealers were trying to cut the gas cylinder, it exploded, killing them instantly.

The injured are Kamusiime Gashom and Tumwebaze John who are admitted to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.

“Our teams from Mbarara Central Police Station have cordoned off the scene and bodies of the deceased conveyed to Mbarara Referral Hospital for post-mortem,” Kasasira said.
