Police seal off Bobi Wine’s home to impound his bullet proof vehicle

KAMPALA — Police have surrounded the home of former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s home in Magere to impound his bullet proof vehicle allegedly over tax evasion.
This followed a Thursday morning resolution by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to recall the car for tax re-evaluation
Source also said that the commissioner who worked upon its release a one Jane Akello has been sent on forced leave with immediate effect.
According to sources, the clearing of such armoured vehicles is a preserve of security, and some elements in the military are now bitter.
However, URA Spokesman Mr. Ian Rumanyika in a WhatsApp message said: “We haven’t fired anyone’
“We are aware of this issue and are currently investigating it in accordance with our usual practices,” he said, adding that: “Until we have concluded the investigation, we will not make any further comment”.
