KAMPALA, Uganda — The Uganda Advertising Association has relaunched AdNites, an iconic networking platform revived specifically to boost collaboration, creativity and shared energy among creative professionals.

Held at Shisa Nyama in Bugolobi, the event brought together agency leaders, creatives, media personalities, freelancers, veterans and young professionals to spark fresh partnerships and industry bonding.

Association Chairman Peter Kazibwe said the return of AdNites was inspired by the need to reconnect an industry that thrives on personal relationships.

Advertising is a people business, Kazibwe said, adding that some of the greatest ideas, partnerships, friendships and collaborations in the industry have started in spaces exactly like these. He said the association wanted to bring back a space where the industry can breathe, connect, laugh and build relationships beyond pitches and deadlines, describing AdNites as culture spaces for the creative industry.

Kazibwe said the association intends to make AdNites a consistent quarterly calendar event that evolves into an inclusive platform bringing together agencies, freelancers, production houses, media owners, clients and young creative talent.

Former association Chairman Muhereza Kyamutetera welcomed the return of the platform, noting its historical role in shaping professional camaraderie.

These spaces used to mean a lot to the industry back in the day, Kyamutetera said. He noted that agency owners, creatives, media people, clients and young professionals used to interact freely, building trust, friendships and business relationships. Kyamutetera added that it is exciting to see the younger generation bringing this spirit back.

Notable industry figures in attendance included Nomad Advertising Group CEO Ariho Kamara, alongside several advertising, media and communications professionals from across Uganda’s creative sector.

The association said the revival of AdNites is part of broader efforts to strengthen industry unity, individual membership, mentorship, visibility and engagement among professionals across the communications and advertising ecosystem.
