KAMPALA —The latest from our very own airline, Uganda Airlines is that it has sealed a deal with Miss Africa Uganda Calabar to be the official sponsor of this year’s event that is aimed at getting the next beauty queen in Africa.
The Miss Africa Beauty Contest commenced registration for the 2021 edition in August this year and the contest will take place on 27th December 2021 during the annual Calabar Christmas Festival.
According to the MoU between Uganda Airlines and Miss Africa Uganda Calabar, the winning Ugandan finalist after voting will scoop a free ticket to Dubai and second gets a free ticket to Mombasa all sponsored by Uganda Airlines.
This deal follows the previous ones Uganda Airlines has signed with local organizations, associations and federations among them including the Federation of Motorsport in Uganda (FMU). The Airline has also met other bodies like Kampala City Traders Association-Uganda (KACITA) and wooed them to fly with their own [Uganda Airline].
Meanwhile, taking you back to Miss Africa Uganda Calabar, the 2021 contest will be the 6th edition of the continental show and will have 54 countries participating compared to last year when COVID-19 was at its peak across the world.
Uganda is currently in auditions to select one beauty pageant that will represent the country to become Miss Africa. Below are previous representatives Uganda has had in these continental competitions.
