KAMPALA-Counsel Eron Kiiza, who was jailed by Makindye General Court Martial for contempt of Court is expected to appear before High Court Judge Michael Elubu for hearing of his bail application.
According to the production warrant signed on behalf of Salaamu Ngobi , Assistant Registrar Criminal Division of High Court, Kitalya Prison has been directed to produce Kiiza in court on Tuesday 25th March 2025 without fail.
Earlier on this month, Kiiza through his lawyers appealed the sentence by the General Court Martial before High court Criminal Division and later applied to be released on bail pending hearing of his application.
In his bail application, Kiiza informed court that he has a fixed place of abode at Central Kiwatule Zone, Kiwatule Ward, Nakawa Division, Kampala City, within the court’s jurisdiction.
He also presented substantial sureties who included his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Tumwebaze, an archives and data manager at Hima Cement, Dr. Busingye Kabumba, a law lecturer at Makerere University, and Primah Kwagala, Executive Director Women Probono initiative.
