KAMPALA, Uganda — Victoria University launched a free artificial intelligence training program Wednesday to prepare students and graduates for a job market increasingly shaped by digital technology.
The initiative is open to secondary school leavers and degree holders from all academic backgrounds. It aims to provide foundational knowledge in AI and its practical applications across various industries.
University officials said the program focuses on preparing learners for the evolving workforce rather than traditional degree awarding. Instruction will follow a hybrid model, using both online sessions and physical classrooms to reach a wider audience.
The training program reflects a commitment to innovation and problem-solving, the university said in a statement. By offering the lectures at no cost, the institution aims to help students remain competitive as the global job market adapts to digital advancements.
The curriculum will also cover career and study options in fields where digital literacy is now a requirement.
Applications are available through the university website at vu.ac.ug.
