KAMPALA — Samuel Malunda, the Vision Group Sales Manager Supplements and Special Projects has died, the company said on Sunday June 19.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the ultimately death of Samuel Malunda who has been our Sales Manager Supplements & Special Projects,” Vision Group said in a statement.
“Burial details will be communicated in the due course. Our sincere condolences to the family and colleagues. We pray that the Almighty God gives you strength and confort during this time,” the statement added.
Malunda is reported to have succumbed to Covid-19 virus.
He was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 undisclosed city hospital for the past few days.
Vision Group Chief Executive Officer Don Innocent Wanyama said Malunda was a dedicated staff who gave it his all and best.
At least 42 patients succumbed to coronavirus on Saturday — extending the national tally to 626 fatalities, the Ministry of Health data showed.
The country also recorded 1397 new cases out of the 9341 tests conducted.
Ministry of Health data indicated that by June 17 the country had recorded a total of 70,176 Covid-19 cases and 49,327 had beaten the virus.
Some 1,004 patients are admitted in hospitals across the country. The positivity rate remained at 15.0 per cent.
