Vivo Energy Uganda Highlights Growth, Opportunities at Suppliers Conference

KAMPALA, Uganda — Vivo Energy Uganda convened its key Shell Select and Shop network suppliers for its third annual conference on Thursday, April 3, 2025, underscoring the company’s post-pandemic growth and future prospects for its partners.

The event in Kampala centered on Vivo Energy Uganda’s strategic initiatives, including an expanding network of locations, the standardization of store appearances, a heightened focus on customer experience, and the integration of big data into business decisions. According to the company, these developments have translated into increased financial benefits for its Shell Select suppliers.

Alinafe Mkavea, Chief Commercial Officer at Vivo Energy, emphasized the positive impact of the company’s expanding footprint. “The expansion of our network presents incredible opportunities for all of us,” Mkavea stated. “New sites mean increased business opportunities, greater incomes, and a more extensive market reach.” The company also highlighted its ongoing efforts in automation to optimize inventory management, streamline transactions, and enhance overall service delivery.

In addition to network growth, Vivo Energy Uganda is investing in upgrading existing retail locations and converting dealer-operated shops to fully branded Shell Select stores to ensure a consistent brand experience for customers. The company also announced plans to expand its Convenience Retail Coaches program to maintain high standards in compliance and visual merchandising across its network.

Joanita Menya Mukasa, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda, expressed gratitude to the company’s suppliers for their collaborative efforts. “Your dedication and partnership have been instrumental in the continued success of Shell Select,” Mukasa said, noting the company’s consistent year-over-year growth. “At Vivo Energy, our vision is clear – to be Africa’s leading and most respected energy business. But this vision extends beyond fuel. It encompasses the growth of our convenience retail business, making our Shell Select stores the go-to choice for convenience shopping.”

Looking ahead, Vivo Energy Uganda outlined its key strategic priorities, which include further expanding its network, diversifying its retail offerings, and ensuring a uniform retail experience across all Shell service stations in Uganda.

Vivo Energy Uganda affirmed its commitment to fostering innovation and supporting its suppliers in growing their revenue within the Shell Select/Shop network, aiming to solidify Shell Select’s position as a leading convenience retail choice in Uganda.
