KAMPALA, UGANDA — The National Forest Authority Uganda (NFA) has appointed Stuart Maniraguha as its Acting Executive Director, effective immediately.
Maniraguha will lead the organization for the next six months, following the successful tenure of Tom Obong Okello, who served as Executive Director for six years.
The handover ceremony, attended by NFA staff from across the country, marked a significant milestone for the organization.
Outgoing Executive Director Tom Obong Okello expressed his gratitude to the NFA Board and colleagues, reflecting on their achievements during his tenure.
Stuart Maniraguha, in his inaugural address, emphasized the importance of teamwork and mutual support. “Let’s work together as a team, supporting each other to achieve our goals at NFA,” he urged, setting a collaborative tone for his tenure.
NFA Board members, led by Chairman Dr. Eng. Christopher Ebal, graced the occasion, highlighting the significance of unity and collective effort.
“NFA is bigger than all of us; we must work together to achieve its vision by supporting the newly appointed Ag ED,” Dr. Ebal emphasized.
Stuart Maniraguha’s appointment is seen as a step towards continuity and building on the achievements made under Tom Obong Okello’s leadership. The NFA community looks forward to continued progress and growth under Maniraguha’s stewardship.
This development marks a new chapter for NFAUG, and the organization is poised to continue its mission to conserve and manage Uganda’s forest resources under the leadership of Stuart Maniraguha.
