H.E. Amokrane Mourad, Ambassador of Algeria, officiated the conference, which featured distinguished guests, including H.E. Dr. Tamouh Moustafa, Syrian honorary consul, and Mr. Mohsen Aghaloo, representative of the Iranian Ambassador.

Mr. Birende Jamiri, marketing officer of Muteesa I Royal University, welcomed participants, while Prof. Adam Ssebyala Al-maliky, academic professor, delivered a keynote address. Prof. Al-maliky quoted an Algerian Military General who defied orders, stating that the Quran is greater than everything.

Dr. Tamouh Moustafa thanked the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran for organizing the conference and emphasized the importance of unity as stated in the Holy Quran. He warned that enemies of Islam exploit Muslim ignorance and illiteracy to fuel endless wars.

Other speakers included Dr. Faridah Nakazibwe Kyambadde, representing Associate Professor Madinah Nabukeera Sebyala, Director of Islamic University in Uganda Females campus; Sheikh Yusuf Mulumba Mayirikiti, Director of Quran and Itra Association; and H.E. Muhammad Mayanja, founder and chairman of Forum for Justice (JEEMA) and two-time presidential candidate.

The conference highlighted the need for Muslims to unite against adversity and promote peace, empathy, and friendship. Moulana Razawi, resident Imam of Kampala Shia Ithna Ashari Jamaat, reflected on Quranic verses introducing Prophet Muhammad as the best role model.

Moulana Assadi, lecturer at Al-Mustafa Islamic College, spoke about unity with God and among people as a plan of Almighty Allah. He emphasized the obligation of believers to promote Islamic unity.

Mr. Abdollah Abbasi, cultural counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, acknowledged Muteesa I Royal University’s cooperation. He emphasized peace, empathy, and friendship as values of true Islamic followers.

The Iranian Ambassador’s message honored Prophet Muhammad and his descendant, Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq. He stressed unity’s urgency, citing Quranic verses, and emphasized cohesion and solidarity to preserve the Islamic Ummah’s collective interests.

Hon. Asuman Basalirwa, chairman of the Muslim parliamentary forum, urged participants to reflect on Prophet Muhammad’s teachings and promote unity against adversity.

The conference concluded with a call for unity and solidarity among Muslims, emphasizing the importance of relying on pure Islamic values and resisting extremist forces.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Mohsen Aghaloo reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s continued support for the oppressed nations, including the Palestinian people.
