KABALE, Uganda — The Resident Judge of Kabale, Justice Karoli Lwanga Ssemogerere, on Thursday inspected ongoing refurbishment work at the Kabale Chief Magistrate’s Court, one of Uganda’s oldest judicial facilities. The court, located on Makanga Hill within the District Headquarters, first opened in 1937.
Justice Ssemogerere was received by Chief Magistrate of Kabale HW Derrick Byamugisha, who provided an overview of the court’s daily operations and the current infrastructural developments. The visit included a guided tour of the premises, which encompass three court halls and three office buildings.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress of the civil works, Justice Ssemogerere commended the collaboration between the High Court and the Chief Magistrate’s Court. He emphasized the importance of efficient case management for the timely delivery of justice.
“The smooth coordination between our courts is critical to delivering justice without delay,” Ssemogerere said during the inspection.
The visit concluded with an introduction of the Chief Magistrate’s staff to the Resident Judge, who expressed his appreciation for their role in the administration of justice within the district.
