KAMPALA – The High Court in Kampala yesterday viewed police crime scene reconstruction videos related to the death of prominent city businessman Henry Katanga.
The videos, presented as evidence, featured nursing officer Otai Charles recounting what he observed at the Katanga residence and the condition of the deceased’s wife, Molly Katanga.
In the footage shown to the court, Otai explained to Detective Assistant Inspector of Police Akong Bibiana that on the morning of November 2nd, 2023, at approximately 8:30 am, Molly Katanga was brought to Bugolobi Medical Centre by her daughter, Patricia Kakwenza. She was brought in a wheelchair and immediately taken to the emergency room.
Otai detailed the severity of Molly Katanga’s injuries, stating that she had a deep and significant open head wound with profuse bleeding. He also noted that her hands were severely injured, with broken wrists and one finger nearly severed. He described her as appearing disoriented, experiencing extreme pain, and unable to sit upright.
Due to the critical nature of her condition, medical staff at Bugolobi Medical Centre recommended an urgent referral, leading to her admission at International Hospital Kampala (IHK) for further medical attention, Otai testified in the video.

However, Otai also stated that when he inquired with Patricia Kakwenza about what had happened to her mother, she simply responded that her mother had been involved in an accident.
The video evidence and a written transcription were formally presented to the court through the prosecution’s fourteenth witness, whose identity was withheld upon their request. The court proceedings continue as the investigation into Henry Katanga’s death unfolds.
