KCCA FC has confirmed that Brazilian forward João Gabriel Esteves Cardoso has signed a new two-year contract extension, securing his future with the Kasasiro Boys until 2027.
This development ensures that the talented attacker will continue to dazzle the KCCA FC faithful at the MTN Omondi Stadium for seasons to come.
Gabriel quickly became a fan favorite after joining KCCA FC in July 2023 on a two-year deal, thanks to his flamboyant style, quick wit on the pitch, and ability to create and convert chances, making him a vital asset for the club.
Upon signing his extension, Joao Gabriel expressed his delight:
“I am happy to continue my journey with KCCA FC. I have truly embraced the culture here and the passionate support from the fans. I feel at home in Lugogo, and I am eager to continue contributing to the team’s success.”
The 23-year-old, who previously featured for Brazilian giants Flamengo (U20) and Germany’s FCA Darmstadt, has shown outstanding potential and been impactful in matches since arriving in Uganda.
KCCA FC co-coach Jackson Magera had this to say about Gabriel upon his signing of a new contract.
“Joao Gabriel is a player of exceptional talent, and we are pleased to have him commit his long-term future to KCCA FC. We believe he will play a pivotal role in achieving our ambitions in the upcoming seasons. Gabriel scored 4 goals and had 3 assists from 10 appearances in the Uganda Premier League last season. He also scored one goal in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
