MultiChoice Uganda has kicked off the 2025/26 football season in spectacular style with a vibrant 6-a-side football tournament at Equinox Sports Center, setting the tone for what promises to be an electrifying year of the beautiful game.

The launch, held under the campaign “It’s On. Season Ewoome,” brought together media personalities, MultiChoice staff, and key stakeholders for a day of action-packed sport, camaraderie, and celebration. The event also signaled the start of SuperSport’s blockbuster football coverage, delivering unrivalled access to the world’s biggest leagues and competitions on DStv and GOtv.

Fans can look forward to over 1,000 live matches this season, including 380 Premier League games, more than 300 La Liga and Serie A clashes, plus the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, CAF Champions League, and more — all in HD on DStv and SD on GOtv. Matches will also be available via DStv Stream and GOtv Stream for fans on the move.

“Football is more than just a sport. It brings people together, sparks conversations, and creates unforgettable moments,” said Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda. “This tournament was our way of celebrating that passion with our customers and partners. It’s On. Season Ewoome.”

Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing, added:

“From the Premier League to La Liga and Serie A, there’s something for every football lover. We’re delivering the best football experience across Africa.”

The friendly tournament featured teams from MultiChoice Uganda, PR firm BrainChild Burson, media houses Vision Group and Nation Media, and advertising agencies TBWA and MAAD McCANN.

After an afternoon of intense 30-minute matches on the artificial turf, MAAD McCANN emerged champions with a 3-0 win over Vision Group in the final, pocketing UGX 1 million. Vision Group took home UGX 500,000 as runners-up, while BrainChild Burson claimed third place.

The competitive spirit extended beyond the launch event, with the season already underway. The FA Community Shield opener on August 10 saw Crystal Palace edge Liverpool 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

The Premier League kicks off on August 15 with Liverpool hosting AFC Bournemouth, La Liga starts the same weekend with Barcelona facing Mallorca, and Serie A begins August 23 with Napoli against Sassuolo.

MultiChoice is encouraging fans to “Reconnect to Ka Weekie” for full access to every goal, tackle, and moment of the season. With streaming, highlights, and subscription management available through the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps, football lovers can enjoy seamless coverage wherever they are.

It’s On. Season Ewoome. The passion is back, the action is live, and the game is waiting.
