KAMPALA, UGANDA — C-Care Uganda served as the official medical partner for the 2025 Rotary Cancer Run, an annual event that drew thousands to Kololo Independence Grounds to raise funds and awareness for cancer care. The event, held on August 31, 2025, aimed to raise 4 billion Ugandan shillings to complete a new radiotherapy center at Nsambya Hospital.

The C-Care medical team provided comprehensive medical support to participants, including first aid, emergency care, hydration, and post-run wellness checks. Sheila Aboth, C-Care Uganda’s Head of Brand and Client Experience, spoke about the company’s commitment to the cause.

“The energy here today is truly electric,” Aboth said. “For C-Care, being the medical partner is about standing shoulder-to-shoulder with every runner, survivor, and family touched by cancer. Together, we are proving that cancer is not invincible.”

Dr. Miriam Mutero Musinga, General Manager of C-Care IHK, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the organization’s mission of providing high-quality healthcare. “Our collaboration with the Rotary Cancer Run reflects our mission of delivering trusted, world-class healthcare,” Musinga said. “The work our team has done here today is only a glimpse of the larger fight to raise awareness, drive early detection, and provide advanced treatment. It is a giant leap for healthcare in Uganda.”

The new radiotherapy center will be equipped with two linear accelerator machines, offering advanced treatment options. According to the Uganda Cancer Institute, nearly 33,000 Ugandans are diagnosed with cancer annually, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced prevention, early detection, and patient support to reduce mortality and new cases.
