URA FC have boosted their backroom staff with the addition of experienced tactician Edward Golola as the club’s new first assistant coach. Golola, a seasoned figure in Ugandan football, has already started work with the team ahead of the new campaign.
He will serve as the immediate assistant to Head coach Alex Isabirye Musongola.
His coaching credentials are impressive, having attained a UEFA coaching license in Germany, a CAF B license, and a Youth Coaching Certificate. These qualifications underline his ability to handle both senior and developmental roles in football management.
He began his coaching journey with Kampala Citizen FC, where he served from 2001 to 2003. Over the years, he built a name for himself by guiding teams to several domestic and regional triumphs. He played a pivotal role in clinching three Buganda regional tournament titles, nine National Secondary School championships, and nine East African School Championships.
At the club level, Golola enjoyed successful stints with Vipers SC, where he delivered some of the team’s most memorable victories. He helped Vipers lift the 2008 Uganda Premier League title, guided them again to glory in the 2009/10 campaign, and secured the Uganda Cup in 2016. His tactical mastery also saw him named Azam Premier League Best Manager of the Year in 2014/15.
In 2017/18, Golola added the Pilsner Super 8 trophy to his collection, further cementing his reputation as a serial winner. His vast experience and proven track record of nurturing talent and winning silverware will now be crucial in helping URA FC achieve its ambitions.
With his arrival, the Tax Collectors are optimistic that the blend of Golola’s tactical knowledge and Isabirye’s leadership will propel the team to greater success in the upcoming season.
