NANSANA– A section of National Unity Platform candidates from Nansana division have declared that they’ll stand independent in the 2026 general elections.

The group led by Nansana division Mayor contestant Isaac Keith Ssali accuse the party of corruptly dropping their names on the list from the first list where their names initially appeared.
The disgruntled group also claim that they received numerous calls from some of the party members asking them to pay some money ranging up to10 million shillings to have their names re-appear on the list of those with the party cards.
” I personally received a call from Mr. Serunkuuma John Bosco aka Kaanakambaata asking me to pay 10 million shillings to retain my name on the list, since I had little money I struggled and sent him 6 million shillings” Isaac Ssali stated.
Keith Ssali noted that despite paying the six million shillings, shockingly his name never appeared on the list and that’s when he tried to call Serunkuuma to have his money refunded.
“Kaanakambaata never paid back my money and up to now he no longer picks my calls!” Worrying Ssali elaborated.
After Ssali, were also a group of councillors led by Wasswa Bukenya whom accuse the party of similarly removing their names on the list of card beneficiaries
Some of these also promised to stand independent in the upcoming polls, others decided to withdraw from the race.
When contacted for a comment about this matter, Sserunkuma declined to comment about the matter as he switched off his known contact number.
