KAMPALA, Uganda — Airtel Uganda, in partnership with Cisco, on Thursday launched a new subscription-based network service for businesses. The offering, called Network as a Service (NaaS), allows companies to access scalable, secure and fully managed network infrastructure without the need for upfront investment in hardware.
The launch event at Kampala Serena Hotel showcased how the NaaS solution aims to support digital transformation for businesses across Uganda.
Rajesh Agarwal, Network Director at Airtel Uganda, said the service removes the complexities of IT infrastructure management for enterprises.
“At Airtel, we believe in a Uganda where businesses can focus on what they do best — serving customers, creating jobs and innovating,” Agarwal said. “With Network as a Service, we’re removing the burden of managing complex IT infrastructure. This is a shift in how enterprise networking is done.”
Designed for enterprises of all sizes, NaaS enables businesses to scale network resources on demand, provides built-in security with firewalls and encryption, and offers global-grade infrastructure with local support and 24/7 dedicated technical assistance.
The solution is powered by Cisco, a global leader in networking technology, and is tailored to meet the specific needs of Ugandan enterprises.
Javed Johar, Account Executive for Cisco Architecture, emphasized the agility and security the service provides.
“We’re proud to partner with Airtel Uganda on this transformative solution,” Johar said. “Businesses today need networks that are agile, secure and intelligent. NaaS delivers exactly that while freeing up internal teams to focus on innovation.”
Airtel Uganda stated the launch reaffirms its commitment to powering the nation’s digital economy with reliable, innovative and inclusive services.
