KAMPALA– On the seventh day of the 2024 National Housing and Population Census, Uganda National Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has come up with the list of the best performing district in the first days of the exercise.

According to the official communication from the Bureau, the best performing districts which scored above 80 percent are: Budaka with 92.4 percent, Zombo with 86 percent, Butambala 85.7 percent, Managwa 85.4 percent, Rubirizi 82.5 percent , Kibaale 82.2 percent, Agago 82 percent and Sheem at 81.7 percent.
The second phase Is those that are above 70 percent , these are : Mpigi, Nakasongola, Amolatar, Butalejja, Bukwo, Kitagwenda, Lamwo, Moyo, Omoro, Rukungiri, Rwampara , Bugweri, Iganga and Kiboga.
On addressing journalists on Thursday, Mukiza emphasized it that despite of the challenges they faced at the beginning,
They have the capacity to cover the whole country in the gazetted days.
However, he added that those districts which didn’t start the exercise on 10th May 2024 as their counterparts, once the deadline clocks before concluding the exercise, they will have an extra day to cover up the day lost.
This year’s exercise commenced on 10th May 2024 and it will end on 19th May 2024.
