Business man Musinguzi Garuga, one of the founding members of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has passed on at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.

According to family and friends, Musinguzi has been battling with cancer for some time.
“We have received with deep sorrow the sad news of the passing of James Musinguzi Garuga, who died this morning at Nakasero Hospital. Dr. Garuga was not only a distinguished entrepreneur and community leader, but also a committed political actor whose contribution to Uganda’s democratic struggle, particularly in the formative years of the Reform Agenda and the birth of the FDC.” Reads part of the official statement from FDC
These have added, that, as Secretary for Economic Affairs in the Reform Agenda, Garuga played a vital role in shaping the foundation of what would later become the FDC, offering both moral and financial support when few dared to do so.
“As a party and as a country, we have lost a man of rare courage, wisdom, and generosity. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.”
Relatives and friends of the late Musinguzi are expected to come out with a detailed burial program.
Musinguzi has been a prominent business man who has invested a lot in education, hospitality and health care system
By the time of his death, he was one of the proprietors of Kigezi High land coffee.
